STAR WARS

The Star Wars Technical Commentaries site is probably the best tech reference site for the Star Wars universe, and has links to many others. You can get to it directly or through Force.net

Research Class Star Destroyer by Crix Dorius. A heavy modified ISD for (maybe dangerous) research operations.

Phooen Class Super Star Destroyer by Crix Dorius. 3km long. Primarily a manufacturing and research vessel like the Arc Hammer.

Imperial Star Destroyer Mk. III by Crix Dorius 2100 meters in length.

Base Class Star Destroyer by Crix Dorius 1800 meters in length.

Tarkin Class Super Star Destroyer by Crix Dorius, based on an original design by Daniel Haughton. Dorius' version is 52,500 meters in length, twelve rotatable superlasers. Daniel's original version had a grav-shock projector to shatter planets, as well as several embarked assault cruisers for planetary occupation.

Imperium Class Ultra Star Destroyer The embodiment of Palpatine's plans for extra-galactic conquest, the Imperium would have been as powerful as a Death Star, but much more mobile. Equipped with a small fleet of capital ships, thousands of fighters, and innumerable support craft, the Imperium would have had virtually unlimited range since it would also have carried several World Devastators to produce needed supplies. With this ship, the immortal Palpatine would have spread the Empire across the universe. Rumors suggest that the crew would also have been "immortal" as well, thanks to cloning equipment that would have been onboard. Thankfully, Palpatine was not as immortal as he had hoped, and the ship never progressed beyond initial planning before his final death. While some die-hard Imperials wanted to try and actually build it to use against the New Republic, saner heads prevailed and the Imperium remained only a terrible dream.

Eclipse Class Super Star Destroyer The resurected Palpatine's flagship in the Dark Empire comics. The size shown here is based on the assumption that the "canon" length of about 17 km was based on the 8km Executor length. So, I scaled it up when the Executor was scaled up, since I believe that the Emperor would have the biggest, scariest flagship possible.

Sovereign Class Super Star Destroyer Pretty much the same comments as the Eclipse, though the drawings is mostly guesswork, since no real drawings of the Sovereign have ever been published to my knowledge.

Executor Class Super Star Destroyer Vader's flagship, note that I subscribe to the larger size, not the 8 km length made popular by the earlier novels and the old RPG.

Super Star Destroyers A comparison of the Executor, and two "non-canon" Super Star Destroyers. The names, "Malevolent", and "Inquisitor" are my own, but the designs are from the Empire Strikes Back sketchbook.

Allegience Class Super Star Destroyer A smaller command ship, midway between the smaller Destroyers and the giants like the Executor. It appeared in the Dark Empire comic series.

Star Destroyers A comparison of four Imperial Star Destroyers, the Imperator/Imperial Class, the Victory Class, and two non-canon designs, the Spectre, based on a concept drawing for the Executor, and the Eradicator, my design for a small ISD intended as an escort. The Spectre is intended to be a fast destroyer, optomized for ship-to-ship combat, lacking most of the ground attack capability of the Imperator and Victory.

Imperium-L Class Meta Star Destroyer by Kelin D. of EOD Designs. Something different, a pencil and paper drawing of a giant along the lines of my Imperium design.

Various Smaller Imperial Starships compared to an ISD. These are all from the WeG RPG.

A revised Smaller Imperial Starships Comparison Chart by Will Cutler

Interdictors A comparison of two Imperial Interdictors, the larger Dreadnought is from the X-Wing comic series.

AT-AT Stock Imperial All Terrain Armored Transport.

AT-ET All Terrain Escort Transport, an escort walker, equipped with powerful defensive weaponry. The missile and laser turrets replace the troop bay and provide excellent anti-speeder defenses. Smaller mounts, based on E-Web cannons, are mounted underneath the hull and head to defend against infantry. Regretfully, it entered service after the Battle of Hoth and was not put into widespread service before the death of the Emperor. Soon after Endor, Rebel commandos, aided by disgruntled workers, destroyed the primary production facility and the changing political/military situation ensured that the AT-ET never was produced in large numbers.

Rebel Fighter Comparisons 1 2 3 A collection of canon and non-canon Rebel Alliance fighters and small combat craft. Page 1 is mostly canon, the A, B, E, X, & Y-wings, plus the Dewback, my design for a light assault transport, with a modular troop/cargo pod. Page 2 has the two seat B-Wing which appeared in the novels, and a 2 seat X-Wing, which could serve as a trainer, scout, EW fighter, etc... The Fleet Defense A-Wing is intended as a cheaper alternative to the A-Wing, lacking a hyperdrive, its intended to provide cover for the Rebel fleet. Its extreme agility serves to counter the improved TIE fighters entering Imperial service even after Palpatine's death at Endor. The T-Wing and W-Wing are my designs. The T-Wing is a medium fighter, the W-Wing is an assault fighter. Page 3 has two larger ships, the T-74 gunboat, which is my design for an Alliance "PT boat", and a modified Baudo Space Yacht, converted by the Alliance into a gunship. There are two "versions" of the Baudo floating around, one from the X-Wing comics, the other from the WeG RPG. I thought the WeG version looked better, so I used that.

Incom T-65A2 "X-Wing" Space Superiority Starfighter The most famous fighter in the Star Wars universe and mainstay of the Alliance and New Republic.

A-5 Saber by Raan Designed as an advanced successor to the T-65 "X-Wing", the Saber combines quad lasers with twin, 6 round, proton torpedoe launchers to give it a vicious punch. Despite being as large as a T-65, its more powerful engines give it greater speed and maneuverability.

E-Wing by Raan From the various Post-Return of the Jedi novels and comics.

Jedi Starfighter by Raan From Attack of the Clones.

X-Wing XR-1 by Raan

Jedi Starfighter Mk II from Revenge of the Sith. Drawing by Mike Brown.

Imperial TIE fighter by Mike Brown. The instantly recognizable cannon fodder of the Imperial Navy.

Centurion Class Ultra Star Destroyer by Joe W. A fleet command ship, slow but immensely powerful.

AT-IC by Hyperion. All Terrain Ion Cannon. Based on an unreleased Kenner toy which converted the AT-AT to have an Ion cannon turret instead of troops.

Oppressor Class Star Destroyer by Neo M. Exelor  The Oppressor Class Star Destroyer is one of the strangest Star Destroyer designs. It is 2200 Meters, and is mainly a carrier for weapons to "Retain planets from Rebellion", taking out the quad-weapon systems to put in AT-AT and AT-ICs. Hanger bay mostly stocked with bombers, though three interceptor squadrons are always ready for defense. It is, though, armed with a standard load of dual-turret guns for defense.

Obliterator/Liberator Class Star Destroyers by Neo M. Exelor  Both roughly 2600 meters long, both carry five large quad guns, as well as one large single ion gun. The New Republic's Liberator has a different bridge structure, with less advanced systems than its Imperial cousin.

Will Cutler has done several drawings of Rebel and New Republic fighters. Heroes of the Rebellion shows some of the more famous X-Wings from the movies and expanded universe. His page of canon fighters as well as X-wings and Y-wings are intended as the basis for different fan designed color schemes. He has also drawn the A-Wing Interceptor.

Two new Star Destroyers from Alex Griffiths, the Gandor and the recon Star Destroyer.

Several Rebel Fighter Variants by Marcus Starkiller.

Tyrant Class Super Star Destroyer by Thomas Hernandez.
